Central Park early in its devlopment “General View of the Central Park, New York.

A wonderful large wood engraving of an astonishingly pastoral Central Park and its surroundings as it appeared in 1860, 2 years after Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux launched their Greensward plan for the development of the park. At the time, the city had developed north only to 39th street.

16 ½ x 22 ½ inches.
Hand colored wood engraving.
Very nice condition.
