A spectacular show of fireworks at the Centennial Celebration. "Pennsylvania Day." September 28th - the Display of Fireworks on George's Hill - The George Washington Bust"

A wonderful wood engraved souvenir from the Historical Register of the Centennial Exposition. It shows the spectacular fireworks that accompanied the special celebration at 1876 Centennial Exhibition in honor of the state of Pennsylvania in which the fair was held. It is not, perhaps, surprising that more Pennsylvanians attended the fair than any other state's populations, but the number is staggering. According to the Pennsylvania Historic and Museum Commission, there were 274,919 people in attendance!
