Pl. 295 "Grande Robe a la Reine, Chapeau a la Miladi"

This wonderful series of French costume engravings was originally issued in book form in the late 18th century.  Entitled, Galerie des Modes et Costumes Francais desine d'apres Nature 1778-1787, it was so popular that the entire work was re-issued in the late-19th century by Emil Levy for the Librarie Centrale des Beaux Arts.  Charming descriptions of the highly fashionable French at the end of the 18th century.
