“A Street in Pekin & Nankin”

This charming small engraved view of a traditional Chinese street in Peking was included as an illustration to: A new general collection of voyages and travels; consisting of the most esteemed relations, which have been hitherto published in any language, comprehending everything remarkable in its kind in Europe, Asia, Africa and America, compiled by John Green and published between 1745-47. On laid paper, it is a crisp and sharp impression engraved by the French artist Jean Basire.

Measuring 6 ½ x 8 inches sheet size, margins trimmed. Very good original condition.
