Pl. 40 "Twickenham-Park-House, In Middlesex the Seat of the Honourable Lord Frederick Cavendish"
Charming hand-colored engraving published as an illustration to William Angus's The Seats of the Nobility and Gentry in Great Britain and Wales, published in London between 1787 and 1807. With its accompanying text which describes the situation and grounds of the manor. In 1067 the site was the residence of William the Conqueror, in 1512 Henry the 8th had a house on this site and in 1550 Queen Elizabeth rebuilt the house. A lovely English view.
