Based upon the most important 18th century chart of the bay and river. The map is oriented to the west so that Philadelphia is at the far right and Cape Henlopen at the far left. The chart contains information concerning depths and shipping lanes.
Complete with all of the 46 pages of the original magazine with such fascinating chapter headings as "Remarks on Dr. Alexander's 'History of Women'", "Method of Making Potatoe-Bread", "On the Hedge-Hog. Its ill Qualities doubted", etc. 8 1/2 x 10 inches, sheet. Copperplate engraving. Excellent condition with margins beyond platemark.  |
