Joseph Jakob Plenck's great work entitled, Icones Plantarum Medicinalum Secundum Systema Linnaei Digestarum...is considered a famous rarity. The book published in Vienna between 1788-1803, consisted of seven volumes and contained seven hundred illustrated plates colored by hand which described the medicinal properites of native European plants. The copper plates are drawn on a large scale and boldly colored. Their titles appear in both Latin and German.
