A particularly beautiful wonderfully detailed and carefully colored view from The Illustrated London News depicting life on the Hudson River in 1875. Fishermen are unloading the day’s catch in the foreground and setting nets in the background, a house is picturesquely nestled below the cliffs on the opposite bank of the river with wagons climbing the road to the great heights above, sailing boats and tugboats ply the waters in the middle and far distance and the scene is bathed in the light of a perfectly beautiful day.
