Robert Hills (1769-1844) studied at the Royal Academy Schools in Great Britain in 1788 and by 1791 he was exhibiting at the Academy. He was a founding member of the important exhibiting society known as The Old Society of Painters in Watercolor. Hills was best known for his watercolors, drawings and etchings of farm animals such as these.
