A beautiful, detailed original antique print of various scenes and buildings on the Oberlin College campus as it appeared in the latter part of the 19th century. They include, “The Entrance to Peter’s Hall”, a portrait of “President Fairchild”, the “Lobby of Peter’s Hall”, “Spear Hall”, “Peter’s Hall”, “Council Hall & First Church”, “Sturges Hall”, “Baldwin Hall”, and Talcott Hall.” The wood engraving captures many accurate details. The view of the Oberlin, Ohio campus was based upon photographs. Photography was just beginning to displace wood engravings as the means of creating illustrations in periodicals and newspapers.
