Each county is individually hand colored. Prime meridians are Washington D.C. and Greenwich,and was published in: Mitchell's New General Atlas, containing maps of the various countries of the World, plans of cities, etc., embraced in ninety-three quarto maps.

The map is especially noteworthy as it is the earliest appearance of a plan of Atlanta in a commercial atlas.
