"Et Surtout, Ne Prends Pas Froid..."
This fabulous highly stylized, carefully colored antique print was contained in a series entitled ‘Gazette du Bon Ton’; a periodical devoted to the depiction of Parisian high fashion designs of the first quarter of the nineteenth century. The clothing, background elements, the postures, and the attitudes of the subjects all reflect a taste for the sophisticated style and taste of the art deco jazz age. The names of the designers of each of the fabulous clothing are recorded below the capitalized French titles, in this case, Chez Mercier Freres of Rue du Faubourg designed the curtains and floor covering. In this scene a mother prepares her son for school and asks her child to not get cold.
