"Je Suis Perdue"

This fabulous highly stylized, carefully colored antique print was contained in a series entitled ‘Gazette du Bon Ton’; a periodical devoted to the depiction of Parisian high fashion designs of the first quarter of the nineteenth century.  The clothing, background elements, the postures, and the attitudes of the subjects all reflect a taste for the sophisticated style and taste of the art deco jazz age. The names of the designers of each of the fabulous clothing are recorded below the capitalized French titles. In this case, the lost boy approaches a beautifully attired woman dressed in a Cheruit creation and carrying a parasol.

9 ½ x 7 3/8 inches, sheet.
Colored lithograph with some pouchoir additions.
Very good condition with light over all patina.
