“Old Woolen Mills”

Joseph Sims (1890-1953) was born in Philadelphia. He studied at Chestnut Hill Academy and the University of Pennsylvania. He trained as an architect and was a member of the American Institute of Architects but he also achieved success as a print maker specializing in architectural subjects that reflect his schooling and interest in buildings and their settings. He exhibited his lithographs at the Philadelphia Print Club. His work is on display in Independence Hall, the Library of Congress and public libraries. The majority of his prints were architectural subjects that reflect his schooling and interest in buildings.
