"Superstition Mountain and Desert. Apache Trail"

Included in a fascinating collection of 25 illustrations of the most interesting views along the The Sunset Route and Scenic Wonders of Arizona from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles, Cal. via The Southern Pacific.   These views were  published for the Van Noy – Interstate Company ,  the Railway News and hotel company founded by the Van Noy brothers of Kansas City, Missouri. At a time when trains did not provide lounge or dining cars, the enterprising brothers created a company to sell food and souvenirs to the passengers. The illustrations were made expressly for the company from photographs taken by special artists of the most striking objects of interest that would be seen from the railroad cars.

First edition prints.
Full color plates with captions are tipped on to art paper within a simple decorative border.
The sheets measure  9 x 11 3/8 inches.
