"Chaumoni et Le Mont Blanc"
The iconic alpine town of Chamonix , site of the first Winter Olymipics in 1924, is shown as a tiny hamlet nestled in the valley beneath the hulking Mt Blanc, in this mid 19th century hand colored lithograph. Chamonix is known as the "Gateway to the European Cascades." This original antique lithograph was probably included as an illustration in a early alpine view book. Framed archivally with curly maple frame.
