"Hedsor Lodge looking towards Maidenhead"

A wonderful view of a scene aquatinted by J. Farrington RA and engraved by J.C. Stadler along the Thames River from a work depicting the scenery welcoming a traveler on a journey following the river from Thames Head in Gloucestershire to the North Sea.  The engravings in the series include rural scenes of Oxford, Henley, Reading, to the North Sea and the commerce and industry of London and its environs. Boydell’s skill, prodigious production of excellent hand engraved prints and eye for the work of the best artists made Britain the center of printmaking in the middle of the 18th century.

Color printed aquatinted engravings, finished by hand.
Approximately 12 x 16 inches, sheet.
Excellent condition.
